SUBJECT
Ordinance changing the calculation of fuel surcharge for transfer station disposal fees.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This ordinance changes how the fuel surcharge is calculated for transfer station customers.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the December 1st Council Meeting you authorized the City Manager to enter into an agreement with CWI of Missouri, Inc. dba Republic Services to provide disposal services of the solid waste from the City's transfer station. This ordinance would change how the fuel surcharge is calculated to agree with the method included in that agreement.


FINANCIAL IMPACT
This ordinance will allow the reduced fuel surcharge costs that will result from the new agreement to be passed on to the City's customers.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the first reading of this ordinance.
